Porn site automatically loads upon restart

Hello,

Here is my problem. Whenever I restart or turn-on my computer, my default web browser automatically opens up to a porn site. (Yes, I have visitied porn sites.) Luckily no girl has seen this yet. How do I stop the page from automatically opening.
Here are a few facts that may be helpful:
1. My default browser is Mozilla Firefox.
2. The porn site is not my home page.
3. My default web browser automatically opens upon restart or turn-on.

Help!!

Hi,

Download HijackThis 1.99.1 from:
HERE.

Create a new folder only for HijackThis (Example : C:\HJT).
Unzip it to this folder.
Click "Scan", after click "Save Log".
Save the log, and copy/paste it into your response to this thread.
Dont check or fix anything yet.

Ok. We'll begin with this :

Download 'SpSeHjfix'. to the desktop
and then
right click a blank part of desktop & select new folder, call it spfix
unzip the file into that folder

Disconnect from the net and Close ALL OPEN PROGRAMS.
Run 'SpSeHjfix'. and click on "Start Disinfection".
When it's finished it will reboot your machine to finish the cleaning process.
The tool creates a log of the fix which will appear in the folder.

If it doesn't find any of the SE files or any hidden reinstallers it will say system
clean and not go on to next stage.

All done, copy/paste the SpSeHjfix report and a new HijackThis log, please.

Good work!

Open the control panel -> add/remove programs
If Need2Find and RXToolBar are present, then uninstall them.

Now, close internet explorer and all browser windows, run only HijackThis and tick :

The bitdefender page didn't work?!

I really really appreciate your prompt replies and your willingness to help. I was not able to perform an online scan, because the Bitdefender page had a faulty link to the downlaod site. I did perform another Hijack scan after I had "Fixed" those things that you had advised me to fix. Let me know what I should do now. Thanks so much.

Jake

Open internet explorer -> tools -> internet options
Verify : security -> medium, privacy -> medium, advanced -> default.
And try again BitDefender.

If that doen't work, then try Panda.

Anyway, post a new HijackThis log, please, Jake.

All Praise Acroblaze

Acroblaze you are truly an exceptional cyber tech helper. I sincerely thank you for your committment in helpin me alleviate this problem.

I still was unable to run the Bitdefender online scan, but I was able to run the Panda online scan. I then ran a Hijack scan and here are the results. Thanks again.

Three Cheers for Acroblaze

Alright, so I made the changes and here is the log file. Again thanks a lot. I really do appreciate this. I mean one day I might (cross your fingers) have a girl over, and well I guess she might actually like the whole porn thing... but I think it might be a little risky.

Yes, it might be a little risky...I would not try...

The HijackThis log looks clean, now. Is the popups problem solved ?

If it is...then ok.

If it isn't then download SilentRunners. Run it. it generates a log too. Copy/paste it here, please.
(If Norton gives an alert..then go ahead. Only because it is a script.)
