Windows Wont Start

When I startup it gives me a boot menu but wont get to the windows loading screen regardless of wether I start in safemode or not. The background is strange as well, it has 100 yellow verticle bars. At first I thought it was the video card but it can run skandisk so i guess thats out, not sure though. Any help would be great, also i dont have a windows millinium cd and if anyone knows where i can download the iso or whatever that would be great, i have the key.

That would be illegal. And you would not find that answer here on this site.

What more can you tell us about your computer other than you using WindowsME? What brand, if Dell, HP, etc? What model number if one of those computers?

Its a dell and has a tnt 2 video card, i think its a pentium 3 or 4 not sure cuz its at the other house. Do you think its hardware related? if not i dont see why the type of computer would matter.

Also, as far as illegal goes I dont think it matters that much. Imean I payed for the software after all, i just lost the cd. I still have the product key. Until microsoft sells cds individually without keys they are at fault.

Hi quixotiK

Photolady is correct when she says 'it would be illegal'.

Are you sure you were supplied with a ME cd or is your os installed on a hidden partition on your hdd.

If you were supplied with the cd then contact Dell giving the model and serial number of your pc. Explain the problem and maybe they will provide a new copy of Windows ME.

I have the same problem, did you ever come to a conclusion. I just downloaded a bootdisk from bootdisk.com and we'll see what happens I have a Sony Viao computer that came with a two system recovery disks as well as two applications recovery disks. I am fearful to use the recovery disks since it may restore my pc to where it was when i first bought it four years ago, i would hate for that to happen, did you have any luck?

Hi hak1906

It would be better to start a new thread explaining your problem, it prevents your problem being missed and avoids any confusion.
