Dual boot computer won't boot properly
Recently I have set up my Tangent laptop to dual boot xp (home) and vista. It came with Windows Vista Business. I used EasyBCD to set up the duel boot. There was no option to choose operating systems. At first it only loaded xp. I updated the service pack to sp2. I used EasyBCD to restore the Vista boot loader. Vista worked fine. Then I changed the default operating system from xp to vista and set the entry based settings to windows vista and set it to the correct drive letter (I'm not sure whether this was a good idea). Finally it gave me the option to start windows xp. I pressed enter and it failed to start. Next, I did a repair installation with the xp cd (service pack 1a). Got to the Windows xp screen and the little loading bar started moving very slowly. Finally, I got two error messages.
"services.exe-Application error The application failed to initialize properly (0xc0000142). Click on OK to terminate the application. lsass.exe-Application error The application failed to initialize properly (0xc0000142). Click on OK to terminate the application." Resources: xp home edition cd and key vista business cd and key another computer with internet and burner (xp home sp2). Is there any software solution to this problem? Will anyone help? Thanks! |
