Angry Blue screen & reboot every time Duplex speed is set @10mbps

I am running a windows vista (Home premium edition, 32-bit) on my laptop Hp Pavillion dv6000. I noticed that any time i connect to a LAN cable that requires for me to change the duplex speed to 10mbps, i get a blue screen & my system reboots everytime. But if i set the duplex speed to auto i dont have that problem. The LAN cable is configure to use 10mbps and this is a big problem for me. i dnt knw if i cld get any suggestions on how to resolev these problem. Thanks...

What is wrong with the auto setting? Your computer will automatically pick the highest speed for the network.

Hi,
well am made 2 understand that there is a small switch that does not accept auto unless u specify the speed of 10mbps for it 2 work. This LAN cable is used to connect to the internet, cant say much about the technical stuff of why i cant use auto but thats how it was configured & i can't complain cos every other person use it without any problem
Thanks

Make sure that you have the latest driver for your networking card. Here is a link to HP's site for your product. Double check the model number, if it is a 6000z or t change it to be the right one.
