Vista and email issues

I have Vista home edition, and I have a comcast email address. Whenever I click on a link for emailing someone, Outlook opens. I can't find with Vista how to set my comcast email as the default address.

The 2003 Office version. I know at one point I tried linking them together, but I need info from comcast, and I didn't know where to find that info.

OK, well that didn't work, even though I followed directions to the letter. I'm using my laptop on a wireless network. Do you think I need to use the directions for a "remote" location? I don't even get the other option, which was using port 587?
