Reset BIOS/CMOS on an HP dv9500t series?

yesterday i downloaded a winflash update off of the HP website for my dv9500 series and in the process of installing my computer popped up that stupid blue screen and the installation did not complete... now i can't start my system it stays on the black screen and doesn't even boot the startup options.. i spoke to an HP rep and they told me to reset the memory module but he couldn't tell me where to locate it.. i don't understand what i have to do is there a simpler way to reset the memory module which i am guessing is the CMOS/BIOS i opened a slot between my two hard drives and I am pretty sure that is where the memory is located and there is a battery that looks like it could be fit for a watch..does that have anything to do with it...if some one can please help i need my laptop ?
