Computer Freezing

my computer randomly freezes as i am using it. Sometimes my pc freezes totally and the only way to get it to respond again is to reset it manually. however sometimes it temporally freezes and then the computer will respond again and i will be able to carry on using it. Not sure if this is to do with vista or if theres an virus or somthing wrong with the hardware thats why i have put it in this section of the forum.

my computer specs are:

processor: Intel core2 cpu 440 2.00ghz
Ram:2047 mb
op: Vista 32mb
any other info needed please ask!

Any help would be greatly received!
thank you
dave

go into your event viewer and see if it shows any errors in your system or application logs. Go to control panel, administrative tools, event viewer

There are a total of 5,966 errors, 4 within the last 24 hours and 72 over the last 7 days.

do you need any further information from this log, if so what information would you like?

Try disabling your Atheros Ethernet Controller in Device Manager. Reboot and see if this fixes your problem.
