Vista Premium Install Hangs on new PC
I'm trying to install windows vista home premium 64bit SP1 OEM purchased from newegg.com on my brand new PC with no OS on it. The OEM works for a first time install according to the quick start guide that came with it.
Upon starting the OS, it boots into the CD and it says "windows is loading files" and it loads a few things, then it opens a screen that looks like the Windows Vista home page, the green/blue color mirage screen, and stops there with no menus or anything. I have no idea whats wrong. Entering my BIOS, all devices are properly detected, and boot sequences are properly set to DVDRW drive and then my HDD, every other boot device is disabled. PC Specs: Intel Q9450 Quad Core 1333mhz FSB 12MB L2 Cache running at stock 2.66Ghz 4GB Mushkin DDR2-1066 ram rated at 5-5-5-15 timings, although timing detection is set to auto by default and has not been changed. Radeon HD 4870 WD 500 GB Caviar HD, 7200rpm 16MB Cache Thank you in advance for your help |
