Question Ctrl/Alt/Delete Function don't work
How do I restore this function. After reinstalling my 98SE my cont/alt/del funcion no longer works so I can't even close a program that quits working nor can I use the function to see which programs are working on my pc
Anyone? Novice here.

taskmgr

Hit OK. Does the taskmanager open up??

Murf - Tried your suggestion and got error message as follows: Cannot find the taskmgr (or one of its components) make sure the path and file name are correct and that all required libraries are available. This all greek to me??? What next?

sfc (hit<OK>)

Reboot, may ask for "98" CD....

Mon. 1-28 Tried SFC mode. System file checker found one corrupt file I.D'd as setupx.dll Selected option to restore file w/ restoration cd. Restored file and SFC verified integrity of my system files. Re-started pc but still no Cont/Alt/Del function. Then my pc froze in desktop position. I could move my cuser around but it would not access my start mode or any of the icons on my desktop. Spent all weekend trying to get pc to work. Was able to start pc in safe mode and access start/programs/system tools. Run Scan Disc and 5-hour Defrag.o.k. Re-started pc and Desktop was as far as I could load. No functionality. Zilch!! Finally had to re-install whole Windows program again with restoration CD to get functions to work and get back on line.

Sometimes you have to do that to fix it, as system files do get corrupt, so everything is working now?
