Windows Vista Problem solving for the Windows Vista Operating System. Please remember to state which edition of Vista you are using - Home Basic, Home Premium, Business, Ultimate etc. and whether you are using the 32-bit or 64-bit version if you know. |

IE is an intricate part of Windows nate56, so you cannot "delete" it. Just stop using it is all that's needed.

Since parts of Internet Explorer (IE) are used by Windows, if you remove it, you'll break Windows.

Nate, why not start a new request in the CTH Malware Removal Forum for this system. Likely some garbage installed there.

It can be turned off, but not totally removed.

Unlikely IE was deleted - more like the access shortcuts are gone. If you check (depending on if your system is 64 bit or not):
C:\Program Files (x86)\Internet Explorer C:\Program Files\Internet Explorer You'll likely find it. And if you click on the iexplore.exe file in one of those locations, I think you might find IE is alive and well. But moot point, since you are using a different browser and things are going well there. |

IE does not show as an installed program on those systems. It shows as a Windows update. So still installed. And again, you are using a different browser, and are satisfied, so all okay.
