IE is an intricate part of Windows nate56, so you cannot "delete" it. Just stop using it is all that's needed.

Since parts of Internet Explorer (IE) are used by Windows, if you remove it, you'll break Windows.

Nate, why not start a new request in the CTH Malware Removal Forum for this system. Likely some garbage installed there.

It can be turned off, but not totally removed.

Microsoft.com > How to turn Internet Explorer off
Quote:
Turn off Internet Explorer

Applies to Windows XP, Windows 7, Windows 8, and Windows 8.1

Windows XP, Windows 7, Windows 8, and Windows 8.1 allow you to turn off Internet Explorer. If Internet Explorer is turned off, it's not available for use by any users on the PC and can't be launched for any reason, even if no other browser is available on the system. The program files to launch and use Internet Explorer are removed to a separate storage location as a backup copy so that a user can turn Internet Explorer back on.

When Internet Explorer is turned off using this feature there is minimal impact on third-party programs (and other parts of Windows itself) that call upon Internet Explorer app services, because the Internet Explorer files that provide functionality to third parties and other parts of Windows are left intact.

Unlikely IE was deleted - more like the access shortcuts are gone. If you check (depending on if your system is 64 bit or not):

C:\Program Files (x86)\Internet Explorer

C:\Program Files\Internet Explorer

You'll likely find it. And if you click on the iexplore.exe file in one of those locations, I think you might find IE is alive and well. But moot point, since you are using a different browser and things are going well there.

IE does not show as an installed program on those systems. It shows as a Windows update. So still installed. And again, you are using a different browser, and are satisfied, so all okay.
