GOogle Drive - best altrnatives?

I am using Google Drive's free 5GB allowance to create an online backup of key folders, but I have noticed that there seems to be no ability to backup sub folders created within a folder after the original backup.

Neither does there seem to be an option to backup only some files within a folder and not backup all the entire contents of the sub-folder with it. Specifically, I want to back up all my Word and Excel files within "Documents", but not ll the sub-folders, such as "Scans". I have heard that Google Drive does not include newly-created sub-folders, which makes it useless to me as I am always creating sub folders within my work folder, and could lose valuable data if it is not being included in backups.

Therefore my question is what free online backup services are cappble of doing what I want to do - i.e including sub-folders?

Don't use it as I personally use a external back up drive, but appears this one may do it:

You might also look into Microsoft's SkyDrive. It has actually been around for several years while MS has been quietly fine tuning it. PC Mag liked it too.

As far as I can see, subfolders are not backing up on Skydrive either but I am still discussing this on the support forums
