URL shortcut
Probably old hat to most, but I just learned this and wanted to pass it along.
Using IE6, you can type the name of the web site you want (for example smartcomputing) in the address bar, then hit Ctrl and Enter at the same time, and it will put the "http://www" before the name and a ".com" after it, so you don't have to manually type the entire address. |

That's a great tip. Works in older versions of IE, too.

Another small tip: who needs search engines?! Just type what you are looking for in your address bar of IE such as "smart computing" or "butt monkey" -- whatever and it'll search MSN for you.
Also if you want to use the search above you can set your internet explorer to open a blank page by default so it's faster. |

I prefer the Google Toolbar myself, but thanks for the tip

I do too. I think that is one of the more useful programs I've come across. (Google)
I personally don't use the URL shortcut because I almost only use Google as well. Just some FYI for those who prefer IE. |
