norton antivirus

so early this morning i ran a virus scan in SAFE MODE. i figured this would minimize my chances at it locking up or whatever. i left the computer to lay down with my mp3 player but fell asleep. i woke up this morning to it frozen up at about 96,000 files or so. any ideas why it froze up and what i could do to fix it?

I would give it another try just in case it was a fluke.

i also turned off the monitor because i needed it to be dark in here so that i could just relax. could this have contributed to the problem?

nope, that wouldn't affect it. On the VERY odd occasion a machine trying to hibernate would cause a stall that didn't restart where it left off. Dan's right, kick it off again, but ensure ppower save or screensavers aren't active for the duration.

How do you keep your incesors so clean?
