Bad Image Alerts

Hey all, whenever I boot I get a flurry of 'Bad Image' warnings that state a certain .exe program isn't capable of running or is damaged. Examples such as explorer.exe, LogonUI.exe, appupdater.exe, and so on. Also some webpages seem to be constantly 'loading' when I browse them. Any thoughts as to what may be up? I've scanned with AVG and Spybot, but even after finding a couple of issues, it's the same.

Many thanks!

If you have admin rights (or are the administrator) open a command window and run chkdsk /r on the drive, answer yes to any questions that may pop up and reboot the system. This will check for file corruption and attempt to repair them.

Didn't work. Pop-ups appeared as it restarted after checking.

EDIT: Live Messenger won't sign in either now, and wlcomm.exe rockets to about 85% CPU usage.

Is it one particular program that is having the problem or is it different ones?

did you update anything or install new hardware/software prior to the problem?
Try performing a Clean Boot of win7, see if the problem persists.

It's several programs. At boot, I get about a dozen popups saying various programs 'are not designed to run on windows or contain an error' it also happens when I try to run Task Manager, CCleaner, or even when the screensaver comes on.

I didn't update anything out of the ordinary; Opera maybe but that's about all I can think of. I'll try the clean boot in the morning and report back. Until then, thanks for the help.

Even opening msconfig or My Computer Properties causes the appropriate exe file to have a 'bad image error'. The problem was present throughout all the clean boot stages too.

Dell Inspiron 560
Pentium Dual-Core E5800 @ 3.20GHz
RAM: 6.00GB

Um, thats about all I can find.

Thanks!

EDIT: Ah hell's bells. Just noticed something new. Every time the error appears it quotes "C:\PROGRA~2\WI3C8A~1\Datamngr\x64\IEBHO.dll is either not designed to run on Windows or contains an error" but the program that's trying to run changes as stated (explorer.exe, LogonUI.exe etc) Just in case that makes a difference/

It does, A quick google search indicates it may be a malware issue. Open a thread in the malware forum, after they give the system a clean bill of health we'll pick up where we left off if you still have problems.
