Windows XP Problem solving for the Windows XP Operating System

Booting up error
I haven't used my desktop in awhile since I've been away at school but some other family members have, and when I got back today it wouldn't boot up and there's only a black screen with white letters that says:

"RV370 P/N 113-A46404-102 AIW NISC 256MB BIOS"

Can anyone tell me what this means?

shut your comp, turn it back on and post back with the amount of beeps you hear... and look at your screen to see if it mentioned what bios manufacturer you have....

Okay I just did and it beeped once, and I'm pretty sure it doesn't say which bios manufacturer I have on there

Video card
The RV370 is an ATI video card and it would appear to have a problem. I would try removing and reinstalling your video card. If this does not fix your error, you probably need a new video card.
