Screen Flashes Black & Blue at Welcome

Suspect graphics driver problem but not sure

Tried Safe Mode, Last Good, System Restore (failed)

Sfc from cmd in RE

Chkdsk /r also

Unable to do anything when screen flashes on and off - it happens just before or after the welcome screen appears

How can I get into the thing to make changes ?

Thanks

Doesn't get to the desktop

You are lucky if you are able to put in your password

Flashes from blue to black once/twice a second - no cursor/mouse movement is possible

try a different monitor to see if you have the same problem, if not, then the monitor could be the issue. also open the case and see if it is dust free. while it is open, make sure all cables and cards are securely connected.

There is no vga or hdmi out !

Screen does not flash in the RE or in bios

Only when windows must load some drivers or instigate a process on startup

This one cracked it

http://myonlinesecurity.co.uk/kb309....ndows-updates/

Although I did have to create a dir on the root called temp as it said there was not enough space in it (it did not exist)

Apparently the problem was due to a windows update that had to be removed in the RE via cmd
