hour glass on curser consyantly blinks

i have a windows vista home premium computer. my hourglass on my curser constantly blinks. the computer seems like it working properly.i have firefox as my browser.

It is possible that you have some autorun processes running in background mode. To disable the processes you do not need, try pushing Win+R combination, accessing boot options (open boot.ini in the dialog window or simply boot options (i can't remember how in looks like in Vista), then simply disable the autorun options for the processes you don't need.

Check the mouse settings in control panel:

Start>Control Panel>Mouse look under the curser selected, maybe it is one that blinks.

I looked on my Vista Machine and there is one that says "Working in the Background" that shows an arrow plus an hourglass. Who new? mine says Normal Select and I only see the hourglass if I'm doing something. Good call Murf.
