Hello michele, welcome!

Can you get into Windows through safe mode?

If you can, try running a virus check.

Also try running spyware check.

If you can, try running a system check with Hijack This program, then post the results in our safety forum and someone will take a look for you to see if there are any issues.

Have you tried booting up using a boot disk?

I downloaded a boot disk on to cd but that didn't seem to work, either. Its my daughters computer and she has lost all the orignal discs for it. I had some one come in and look at and he told me it will take around 5 hours to fix @ £90.00 per hour plus VAT and parts, he then went on to ofer me a reconditioned one for £800.00 and he would dispose of the old one safely for me. Well not to impressed.

Yes, done but to be honest not sure if I done it right as there was 3 that for disc floppy disc etc, so I done the first one as I was afraid to touch anything I was unsure about. Thanks.

Check your BIOS set-up screen under boot options it should give you the option there.
