Hi:
Every time Windows(XP) starts, a dialog box opens about cdsetup.exe not found in the registry. How to I fix this problem? I'm a novice and I can't even locate the registry on my computer. I just purchased utility software to clean my registry? but to no avail. Thanks for any help you can provide me. Jeff |

I think CDSetup.exe is a driver for Hitachi CD-Rom devices. If you have an Hitachi you should uninstall & reinstall a new downloaded driver..

Start>Run>Type into box: msconfig >OK
Uncheck any reference to cdsetup.exe Reboot If that is unsuccessful try this: Start>Run>Type into box: win.ini >OK Notepad will open the win.ini file. Under the [windows] header clear the lines 'load=' and 'run=' so they look like this: load= run= Exit Notepad and save changes>Reboot. Last edited by Morlock; August 4th, 2008 at 04:46 PM. |
