Bios Upgrade

i use an ABIT IC7-G mobo and Abit stopped upgrading the bios 2 years ago. I have bought an upgraded BIOS that came with winflash from esupport and when i start it it opens then saves my current BIOS then i am asked to choose which file to use so i direct it to the .bin file i have bought. A box then comes up and it says "deleting DMI and there is a % on it. I have ran this for half hour or so but the % stays at 0%. Is this enough time or should i leave it longer? When i open task manager in the apps tab it says "WINFLASH Not Responding". Is there a feature inbedded in the bios to stop me from flashing a new Bios, if so i would appreciate the help on doing this.

Mark

first of all, dont flash unless it has a feature you need.

Are you sure the bios update is for your specific board? You do not want to be trying to force an incompatible update to install. Please provide the link where you got the flash update from.

Download and try the standard flash utility instead of winflash.
You will need to make a bootable floppy and transfer the files
to,boot to it and run the flash.
Also check your BIOS setup for flash protection or check the
motherboard for a flash protection jumper.
