Windows Media Player - No Sound

Since yesterday, I've been trying to play files in wmp, and I can see videos fine, but there's no sound when there should be. Funnily enough, it screwed up just after I installed real player. So I got rid of that, but I still can't hear the audio in wmp. I've checked the volume control and all the rest, and nothing seems to be working. I'd really appreciate some help.

Welcome

What OS?
Could you try a System Restore?

Tried it, didn't help, I installed wmp again etc etc like I said nothing's worked. Could it have something to do with my comps 'virtual memory?' That seems to be coming up a lot lately, about how it's low(forgive me, I don't know a lot about comps, anyone who helps me is gonna have to use lamens terms, lol).

Do you get any error messages?

Are your other PC sounds working?

Did you check the volume via the icon in the system tray?

Have a look in Device Manager to see if the sound device is install and working correctly.

Long shot, but try installing Real Player or another Media Player and see if that works.
