Yep
No joy, so reinstalled the OS Was hoping something was going to magically reverse the RAW partition back to its working self ... ! Problem caused by a power outage during an update Thanks |

Tried it 3 times now
The first time it happened, I took out the HD and plugged it into another via USB and the main partition came out RAW 2nd and 3rd time, I didn't try it via USB, but am getting exact same error message |

It also has a hidden Drive 1 of 7.5Gb - is this an iSSD that I have read about
Would this cause issues ? Can't upload pictures here as I have a screen shot |

you should be able to attach pictures by clicking on "go advance" type your message, then scroll down to attach files and click on "manage attachment"
as far as the space, if the drive is the original drive that came with the computer, then most likely it is where your factory restore files are stored. |

Whoops - it says I "MAY NOT" supply attachments
![]() On boot, I cannot get any F keys to work - HDD disconnected to see what happened Can't even get into the BIOS Can only get there if I attach the 1Tb drive where it has a menu where the only thing that work are Esc to get to BIOS So when I installed the OS last time, there were 2 drives to choose from - 1TB and this 7.5Gb ssd? drive that I cannot locate inside I reckon I wiped it when reinstalling sometime - would this have had Samsung info on it..... 7.5Gb ssd that has to be the backup restore partition.
There have been numerous problems with the April update: https://www.windowscentral.com/windo...and-complaints Maybe find you problem here, I would wait until MS fixes the damn issue. |

Sorted
I re-downloaded the updated Windows.iso (with April 2018 Update) on another computer using the media creation tool. Then used ImgBurn to create a bootable disk (maybe the 1st one wasn't bootable properly) Had to fiddle endlessly with BIOS and various settings (F Keys were not much help on this laptop on boot....) Now have Build 1803 on here - hope it is the updated one Never came across a laptop which is so confusing (Samsung Chronos Series 7) and F keys unresponsive on boot - also the 7.5Gb Drive 1 which could be an iSSD to hold Recovery ??? Proved 3 times that April 2018 Update makes it unbootable if updated as normal - hope I don't come across this again ! |
