Missing File

I attempted to open a word document using MS Word 2007. How ever I get a message that the document can not be opened because some parts are missing or invalid. When I use Noted pad all I see is computer language. How can I open the document

Try to create a new document, then save it, now try and open. If it does then its not Word but the document itself somehow got corrupt.

Also try opening in WORDPAD, Start>Seach type Wordpad and double click to open.

Sometimes you can open in draft mode:

To switch to draft mode in Word:
  1. On the View menu, click Normal.
  2. On the Tools menu, click Options, select the View tab, and select the Draft Font option
If it does then save under a different name
