Red face Adobe FTP Site Access

I think I used to go to ftp://ftp.adobe.com/pub/adobe/ or something to download the Free Reader installation files, but now it requires a password or the right application or something now and I can't use it.

Now it says..

"Allow htttps://www.adobe.com to open the ftp link?
You;ll need to choose an application.'

How can I use it now.

Thanks

Hi Matt,
I was pretty sure that Adobe reader works out of the box in Linux. Which system are you using??

Jaytee, I'm about to try those "secured FTP Clients" at the link you provided.

Tried FileZilla. Looks like it has many features I don't know about but I was able to wing downloading some things from the Adobe FTP.

Thanks Guys

Like I said in post 3, I'm using Windows 7 and 10.

Now that I can use the Adobe FTP site, I can find the newest version of Free Reader 2020 for Windows 7, but I can't seem to find the 2022 version on there (to use with Windows 10).

Do you see it?

How I get where I'm seeing is I paste the link in post 1 into "Host:" then /pub/adobe/reader/win/AcrobatDC

Update

I never found the newest version of free Adobe Reader on the Adobe FTP but recently found that prodesigntools.com ,which I think they own, seems to keep the newest .exe of it on their site though it for some reason doesn't make it ready to find by just looking around the web pages.

https://prodesigntools.com/ardownloa...620380_MUI.exe

Go to the link above and change the 2 parts in the address bar that as of Nov 14 says 2300620380 to the newest version number. Version numbers can be found below.

https://www.adobe.com/devnet-docs/ac...sDC/index.html

thanks
