Need assistance with HJT log

Hi, I have been having some problems with svchost.exe for the last couple of weeks, and I was wondering if one of you folks might be able to help me. For a while now, whenever I turned on the computer, for the first five minutes after booting up the computer would slow down to a crawl, and task manager showed svchost.exe using up 98-99% of the CPU. I downloaded Process Explorer and it showed that all svchost.exe processes belonged to Microsoft, so I didn't look any further into it. However, now this issue happens more frequently and seemingly randomly. I would be typing up a word document or using the internet or whatever and svchost will slow the computer down for a few minutes before returning back to normal again.

Another problem I've been having is that AdAware SE keeps on detecting infected files and cookies. I would do a scan in the morning and delete everything that comes up, and then when I come home in the afternoon and run a scan there will be another 20 or so items that it lists as infected, even though the computer had not been used all day.

I have run McAfee virus scan on a regular basis, but it shows nothing. Thanks.

No infection showing here, and that really does sound like a software issue instead. I see here you had tied this issue to a recent install of IE7. Have you tried uninstalling that and check for improvement? If it does provide relief, then perhaps you can check in with the CTH Internet/Browsers forum to determine what other items you have might not work so well with IE7.

Thanks Tom, I'll try uninstalling IE7 when I get time this weekend.

Edit: Automatic updates just downloaded a bunch of updates, including a couple of IE7. I'm going to install them and see how things work. Thanks again for the help.
