Dead Motherboard?

I am a newbie to pc components. I have a dell dimension 8300. Recently, the computer fried (I was in the middle of a game when the computer just turned off) When I attempted to turn it back on, there is a high beep for about a second. Then the power light flashes orange until I turn the power supply off (It is an antec power supply) I've tested my power supply and it works fine. How can I tell if my motherboard is fried? Could it be my motherboard?

If psu is ok and will boot another pc, then it sounds more like end of video card than motherboard.

last night,
i tried the removing certain components thing. The ram produced the same results. so i tried what you said and took out the video card. When i did the computer power light was green but no drives or fans were spinning. However the light was still green (not a flashing amber/orange) and there was no beep. Does this mean it is the vid card?
