"Insert bootable media in the appropriate drive" displays
When I turn the computer on, the message "insert bootable media in the appropriate drive" displays.
 I have dl the boot cd for Win Me to no avail. I have tried many interruption sequences (ie ctrl, atl, del: ctrl,s: del: f10, etc)also to no avail as the same string continues. however when a input ctrl, alt, del the screen goes blank bottom line I cannot get to BIOS. How do I test my hard drive and are there any suggestions? Oh yea, at one point early on I was able to get a message about the floppy drive that indicated floppy drive not readable as it has not worked for some time . The computer is very, very old but has a dynamite sound card.....the entire system is only about 15G. Used computer for music. Thanks for everything in advance.

get a win98 bootdisk from bootdisk.com and see if you can boot.
