send to mail recipient not working (using T-Bird)

Hi,
Not sure if this post belongs here or in "applications". I use Thunderbird for my email client (always have) and yesterday encountered a problem. I always 'right click' on a picture and then use the 'send to' 'mail recipient' to attach a pic to an email. Yesterday that stopped working. The 'send to' is still in the menu but when I choose 'mail recipient', nothing happens. I was getting an error box that said something like "another program is trying to send email on your behalf" and I unchecked the 'warn me about this' box, so I don't get the warning anymore, but it's still not attaching pictures to my emails. I've got Thunderbird set to my default email client. I don't know what else to do? Any and all suggestions much appreciated.....and if this post is in the wrong section, my apologies in advance.

If you're right clicking on the picture that's on a web site, then the problem is likely with your browser, not your email client.
Which browser are you using when this problem occurs?

No! I right click on a picture in my computer. When you do that a menu comes up and you can choose send to mail recipient.

First go to Settings/Apps/Default Apps to make sure Thunderbird is selected as the default mail client.

If that doesn't work, check to make sure your antivirus is up to date.
