Photos opening and closing

Hello...

I have a client who uses the Photos program on his Windows 10 computer. When he opens Photos it displays a blank black screen and then closes. It is only open for a few seconds.

Does anyone have any idea how to fix this without changing the whole computer?

On your keyboard, press the Windows logo key and type apps, then click on Apps & features.

Scroll down the app list and locate Microsoft Photos, then click on Microsoft Photos and click Advanced options.

Scroll down and click on the Repair button under the Reset section.

If not then go back to the last page and hit RESET.

Hi Murf,

I'm glad to say that the problem is now resolved. After a few nights of failed fixes, I contacted some local IT guys. One of them sent me to https://shieldground.com/how-to-troubleshoot-microsoft-photos-in-windows and suggested I checked for updates. A few minutes later I was up and running again.

What I don't understand is how so many websites explaining how to fix this problem didn't mention this solution!

Anyway, thanks for your help on this.
