Internet Goes Down

I initially thought it was my ISP, who said it was my router, but now I believe it is my CPU. I can access my wifi through other devices. My computer just loses internet connectivity for about 5 minutes at a time.

What could be the cause of this or how do I find the root cause?

I have a PC with an antenna to pick up the WiFi. Looks like I have Windows 7 also. You can move my thread... Sorry about the confusion.

I merged your two threads.
Since you are using what is called a PCI Wireless Card probably similar to this:

May have one or 2 antenna's, then either the card is bad, or the signal is being blocked somehow. Did this just start? Is the Computer located near any electronic devices? Can you try moving the computer, if that is an option to see if in fact it could be the signal itself?

When you lose the signal how do you get it back, or does it come back on its own?

The signal comes back on its own, but it still says I'm connected to the internet (see pic). It happens about once every 2-3 hours. Not like clockwork but just on average.

It recently started happening. I did just get a new TV with HD cable and an amazon fire stick, but the signal drops when I'm not using the amazon fire or the TV.

I could move the computer, but it's been in my room in the same spot for ages...

linksys E2500. I feel like it isn't the router because my other devices stay connected. Do you think it could be my antenna? Seems strange that it goes out for about 3-5 minutes and then comes back and my signal is still strong supposedly.

just because you don't have a problem with other devices does not mean it cannot be a router problem. The router is dual band, did you try the other band for just the computer?

you can check out how to do it using the following user guide. Should have mentioned, if the wireless card is not dual band, disregard my suggestion.

I tried to look for my wireless card but I stumbled on this... I have amazon fire stick in my room. Does that affect my computer? It's attached to my TV.

Might be a DNS problem? I can view some websites like linkedin but not google.com right after the internet goes down.
