Apparently power to the fan is not getting there unless your old fan is bad and so is your new one. Use a voltmeter (or have someone do it) to check voltage to the fan input pins. This could be 5vdc or 12vdc depending on the fans requirements. There are usually 3 pins to plug the fan in. Since most anything now is so confined, it's hard to tell sometimes if you actually have the 3 pins in the 3 hole jack or just 2. Bent pins also popup after messing with it. Give it a good visual one more time and then check the above for voltages.

ur computer shouldnt just shut down right away if the case fan is broken, if it starts up then shuts down right away then the problem might be with the power box itself or the cooling components for the other parts

the computer will run for about 20 min or so, then it will just cut right off.
