Overheating...

Hey, I went downstairs to watch tv and my computer has shutdown and wont get past the bios post message, and it was continually beeping short beeps and having heard this b4 i believed that it was doing this bcuz it overheated. I cleaned it out and it is working fine now, just wanted to make sure that, that was what it was and its not something else major.

the comps. bios is a Phoenix
AMD sempron 2500+
256mb's of ram

Did you leave it running a CPU-intensive program? Make sure your CPU fan is clean of dust and such.

could be heat since when you cleaned out the dust it started working. But then the dust could cause other problems so really cannot tell you fer sur.
