bsod bsod bsod bsod Driving Me Insane

This problem is killing me.

I have constant bsods of ALL sorts, coming up at random intervals. It first started a month ago, when I bought an ATI Radeon card and a 1G stick of RAM for my OLD computer. Everything on my computer started acting up, even when I took everything back out. BSODs of every kind - that usually indicates probable driver issues, right? So I reinstalled every driver I could think of, every version for every device. BSODs.

I figured it was my custom-built PC (I forget details, sorry - my brother built it) and so I bought a Visionman PC for gaming. I added two parts from my old computer: My Wireless-G PCI Adapter, and my old hard drive, with everything deleted but documents and music. STILL got BSODs. Disconnected hard drive, reinstalled windows on a completely empty hard drive. Everything fine until I installed all the default drivers and downloaded Firefox. Firefox started crashing, and after a few innocent application crashes, my computer would crash and restart, then crash on XP logon. Then everything would be fine. Then I would copy a file, and BSOD, restart, BSOD, restart, fine. I would click on Start - same thing. Completely random.

This is making me indescribably homicidal. Or... computercidal. There is absolutely no relation between my new computer and old computer now. Everything has been deleted. Why am I getting these errors?

Howdy and welcome to CTH:

Really can't help you unless you can give us the BSOd's.

Is your XP cd retail (original Microsoft) or OEM?
