well, I certainly hope not. cause he's a compute programmer.
Im totally against piracy.
but I'll ask him.
so ur sayin I won't lose all the files? cause a friend told me when u repair it resets the system, cause the file prolly got infected with a virus.

It is a pirated copy if you did not get the cd. You need to either get the disk from your friend or purchase a new copy to be legal.

As far as the repair, it depends upon the type of repair needed.

I didn't get it cause I brought him the computer 1nce 2 fix it, and he had 2 reset the system, so he installed his cd.(so u mite b rite).
so 1nce he'll fix my comp with his copy, can I install my cd over it and the data won't b lost?
(also, what u mean the type of repair needed? cause i get a message when I start the comp that the file windows/system32/config/system mite b missing or corrupted)

First of all, XP can ONLY be installed on ONE system unless it is a corporate edition most of which are pirated versions..

You said he used HIS copy so, that means he should have given you the cd as it is no longer any good on any other system other than yours UNLESS it is pirated..

*L*.. No, but helping out with software that was obtained illegally (no matter how innocent the user is) is against policy here..

Would love to help but need to make sure everything is legit !!
