missing system file
hey ya'll.
I have a problem with the other comp. when I rebooted it, I got a message that Im missing the config/system file, and it says 2 enter the original setup CD-ROM and press 'r' 2 repair. now the problem is a friend installed windows 4 me, and I can't get the original cd, I tried with another windows xp CD but it dont work. is there a way around it? thx in advace. |

Ya.. get the cd your "friend" used although I am willing to bet, if they used it and never gave it to you, it is a pirated copy in which case your help from here with be limited if at all !! Murray |

First of all, XP can ONLY be installed on ONE system unless it is a corporate edition most of which are pirated versions..
You said he used HIS copy so, that means he should have given you the cd as it is no longer any good on any other system other than yours UNLESS it is pirated.. Murray |
