I386 Folder

Hello,

I have a folder called I386 in my laptop. What is exactly does this folder contain? Is it alright to delete it?

Do not delete it.It contains microsoft files.

Thats the directory for Service Pack 2, Leave it

Not quite.

The I386 folder contains the Windows Setup files.
It has all the files used to install XP.

It is handy if you didn't get the CD or if the OS was copied to the HDD when installed as you no longed need the CD.


Service Packs are stored in ServicePackFiles

So is it alright to delete it? I have the Windows XP Home installation CD from Dell.

If you have space available for it then keep it as Windows uses it when it looks for drivers etc.
