Deleting Windows after reinstallation

I recently had to reinstall windows on my computer, however I wanted to keep the current files on my hardrive so I partioned the hardrive and reinstalled windows on the new partioned drive. Windows works fine now, however the old installation of windows is still on the old partioned drive taking up valuable space,

Is it possible to delete this old installation of windows or is the computer still using files from it?

If it is possible to delete this folder can I do it manually or do I have to use some sort of special program to do so?

The boot files for the new system are still on the C drive.

You can delete all the Files except for those in the ROOT of C.
If you delete them then the new Windows will stop working.
