Unable to write to Verbatim +R DL DVDs

I am running Premiere Elements 12.1 (DVD movie creation software) on an iMac running macOS High Sierra Version 10.13.6. I have successfully created a number of 2 hour DVDs with Memorex +R DL DVDs using the highest quality option. I recently ran out of those and purchased Verbatim +R DL DVDs and get "unknown error 2130932483" every time I try to use one. I have tried to create 15 minute and 2 hour DVDs but all fail.

Does anyone know what part of my overall configuration is causing this problem? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

This sometimes happens when you get a bad batch of Discs.

But first look at your old DVD Discs to the new DVD Discs.
Does it say: +R DL DVD, or -R DL DVD?

Some DVD BURNER's will only burn +R or -R.
But not both formats.
So, check what type of DVD Format the DVD Burner wants you to use.

Also try burning to a folder first, then to the disk.
This may help with this problem.

Thanks for the reply.

Both my Memorex and Verbatim DVDs say +R DL 8.5 GB.

My burner is a Mac USB device with no markings. Not sure of the model. It's at least 5 years old. Any idea how to check its requirements? As I mentioned, it has no trouble with the Memorex.

I've always burned directly to the disc. I'll have to research a folder option.

Well,
Go get a different brand of +R DL DVD Discs, and try burning a Disc with one of them.
And or.....
If you still have the receipt for the Verbatim DVDs.
Go back to the store and see about exchanging them for a different brand.

I'm not a MAC user, and I don't know where you can find the information about the drive in your OS's system configuration.
Hmmm..................
Check the Burner Software your using.
I know Roxio has a drive info for the windows version I use.

I also have a Windows PC. As it turns out, the DL Verbatim disc work there, just not on the Mac, and fortunately, the DL Memorex work on the Mac but not the PC. So I'll just make sure I have a supply of both types and use the one that works when I need to. Thanks for your input.

Hmmm...............
That's seems strange.

If you still got the original packaging for the Disc's.
See if it mentions anything about pre-formated for MAC or PC.

I'm going to do some web mining, and see if other people have run into this issue.

What I sometimes do is get the media identification code:

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Media_Identification_Code

using a program called DVD Identifier for Windows:

https://www.videohelp.com/software/DVD-Identifier

to find the manufacturer of blank disks, and then look for details on them here:
