Angry User Manager

I was using the User Manager function in Windows XP prior to upgrading to SP2, and all was working correctly. However, when I installed SP2 and then began running it, I experienced numerous problems.

When I began tryin to edit a user, I received the following error message:

================================================== ========
"USER MANAGER FOR DOMAINS"

THE FOLLOWING ERROR OCCURRED ACCESSING THE PROPERTIES OF THE USER <USERNAME>

THE SPECIFIED PROCEDURE COULD NOT BE FOUND.

THE USER PROPERTIES CANNOT BE EDITED OR VIEWED AT THIS TIME.
================================================== ========

Any ideas? I am considering removing SP2 but that would be a last resort for myself...

Thanks,

Ambrish

Which user manager?

Is this via Administrative Tools?

Are you logged on with Administrative rights?

At first I was set to Debugger, so I then changed this and set myself as Administrator. I then rebooted later on in the day and then tried once more but still found I had the same problem...

This is really frustrating for me now, as I'm tempted to remove SP2 now...

User Manager Fix

If you're getting to User Manager via a shortcut to the server. Try simply copying User Manager (USRMGR.exe) from the System 32 folder onto your local computer (Desktop, My Docs, it doesn't matter), then open and run it as you would normally.

You can do the same thing with SRVRMGR.exe and it will run normally.

Hope that helps.
