How to get rid of service or driver failure during system startup?

Greetings,

I am running on Windows NT and have been unable to get rid of pop up Service Control Manager window saying: ! At least one service or driver failed during System Startup. Use EventViewer to examine the event log for details.

The Event Log describes these incidents as:

---a Service Control Event with ID 7026 Type error "The folowing boot-start driver(s) failed to load: Sermouse"


---a Service Control Event with ID 7024 Type error "The Net Log On Service terminated with service specific error 3095."

Is there any way to resolve this constant error message?

According to the mouse properties, "Microsoft PS/2 Mouse with Wheel" ...

Is that the only mouse listed?

Is sermouse listed, if so DISABLE IT.

If not try this:

1. Make a backup copy of the Boot.ini file.
2. Remove the hidden, system, and read-only attributes from the Boot.ini file.
3. Using a text editor (such as Notepad) open the Boot.ini file.
4. Add the /NoSerialMice option to the end of each entry in the [operating systems] section of Boot.ini. See the example below for more information.
5. Save Boot.ini and quit Notepad.
6. Restore the hidden, system, and read-only attributes to the Boot.ini file.
7. Shutdown and restart Windows.
The following is a sample of the Boot.ini file say for WINNT:

default=multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(0)partition(1)\WINNT3 5

[Operating systems]

Thank you Murf for your suggestion. The Boot.ini now reads as follows, BUT I AM STILL GETTING THE SAME ERROR MESSAGES WHEN I BOOT UP. Any other ideas????
