networking a win7 pc with a mac running osx 10.5.8 leopard?

i am having a littel [well a lot] of trouble setting up a network between a windows based pc and a macbook pro running 10.5.8. any suggestions?

well iv connected them both to my router, set file sharing on the mac, what else do i have to do. doesnt it just show up in the network on my windows7 computer. sori for the lack of information i just dont know what information i should be giving.
