first movie at a theatre near you

What was the very first movie you remember seeing at the theatre?

The very first one for me was in 1964, my mom took us kids to the theatre to watch mary poppins when it was first released.

It was, I think, the Miami premiere of Ben Hur.

I can't remember the first movie I saw in an actual movie theater, but I do remember that my best childhood friend had an uncle whose house we visited often, and he had the film Phantom of the Opera with Claude Rains. And he would string that thing on the movie projector and we'd watch that movie, about every time we went over there. We LOVED it, never got tired of seeing it. LOL. We could definitely recite most all the lines from it at the drop of a hat. When it comes on now, I still enjoy it!

The first I can remember seeing was Magnificent Obsession with Rock Hudson in 1955 while on holidays with my parents at the Nambour picture theatre. I was 12 at the time.

I had seen plenty of cowboy films at home, at the Saturday afternood kids session, in the Star Picture theatre at Wynnum in Brisbane, where I remember seeing Tammy with Debbie Reynolds a few years later. Unfortunately the Starr theatre burnt down a few years later killing a fireman, Mr Brown, the father of a school friend.

Boy, this is a hard one. Aladdin (1992) is the earliest one I can think of. (Bush Loading, Please Wait...)

Fantasia, By Walt Disney. The year was 1942 I think and I was about 5. The movie was kind of strange, that's probably why I remembered it.

The first movie I think to watch in theatres.......It was in 1996....It was Doctor Dolittle..... in which animals were talking. I then maybe if I remember...... got the videocassete of it later on in the year. I may still have the videocassete of it now, but I am not sure, but if I do have a videocassete of it, I'll watch it in my VHS/DVD combo player. I have a collection of videocassettes and DVDs of movies that some I haven't watched in several years.
