Welcome

Why not download it and try it anyway.
Both can be used simultaniously.

Just to add, I'd suggest not having firefox as the default browser (it should ask you if you want this) for now, it can be changed easily later if you decide it is better than IE. Default just means that things like clicking links in an email client, it will use the default browser.

I use Mozilla sometimes (from the same company as Firefox) and I like it, especially the tabbed browsing.

The two features of Firefox/Mozilla that I really like are the "Tabbed Browsing" and the built in pop-up stopper.

Tabbed browsing allows you to have one instance of the browser open and have multiple webpages open inside it with each accessible by the click of a tab, saves a bit on system resources if you find yourself opening a bunch of browser windows at a time.

The built in popup stopper is just great. There are two modes: 'block all but select sites' and 'allow all except select sites'. I use the block all but select mode. This way when I visit a site that has popups they're stopped, and if I happen to want the popups to be allowed from the site I'm on, with a few mouse clicks I can add it to the allow list. *Some sites you'll want popups from like maybe your online banking website pops up a list of transactions that match search criteria*

Cool

I use the MYIE2. It has the same as mozilla or opera. It has the tabbed browsing as well as the popup stopper. I've used the mozilla, mozilla firefox, and opera. But for all I use it for I like the MYIE2. There are no add banners with MYIE2 and there are some really nice skins also.

you might also want to try opera, it has similar features and is very very fast
also looks cool and can be skinned like mozilla
free with a banner ad in the corner
