Printer question with 7 and Virtual XP

I'm running Win7 RC .. no problem and I love it. I had my grandson install the Virtual Windows XP because I want to be able to use some of my older graphics programs. No problem and I love it. Recently purchased a new HP Photosmart printer. Installed it on Win7.... no problem and I love it.
Here's the problem...

If I design in one of my graphics programs (installed on Virtual Windows XP) I can't print out the results. I can't copy and paste it over to Win7 RC for printing because the program that it was designed in isn't installed in Win7.

How do I install a printer to the Virtual Windows so I can print out my creations?

Since this involves Win7, WinXP and a printer I wasn't sure where to post it. Sorry if it's in the wrong place.

Any help greatly appreciated.

Tony

Hi Tony. Try the steps outlined in "Using USB and other Devices in Windows XP Mode" in this Technet Windows Virtual PC blog.

Grandson will be over in the next day or two. I'll be sure to let you know the results.

Having used this forum several times I appreciate the help.

Great News! My grandson was sick today, wasn't able to go to school and so came to spend the day at my house. Now I know it's not good news that he was sick...hehe... BUT.. he followed the directions in the link supplied and put the printer installation disk in and it worked like a charm. I can now print in all my graphics programs. I am thrilled to say the least.

Thanks so much for this forum and all the good info you provide.

Tony
