Hiding the start bar...?

Just wondering how to hide the start bar when in firefox.

By that i mean, having the firefox window being ontop of the start bar (i used to be able to do it in Windows Vista but can't find the option to do the same thing in Windows 7)

Thanks in advance!
Peter

But that keeps it down all the time unless i hover over it. I want it always up unless i maximise a window which would overlay it.

This was possible on Vista?
