Sound card not working with Windows 7?

Hey y'all. Due to a hard drive failure (not my own choosing), I installed Windows 7 Ultimate on my PC. Everything seems to be working okay except for my "Multimedia Audio Controller." Therefore, I can't get any sound.

Windows can't find an appropriate driver for it and it doesn't appear that NVIDIA has a driver for Windows 7. Should I try the XP or Vista driver? Or is my card (nVIDIA nForce3 150) just sorely out of date and in need of replacing?

I assume this is one of those cases where the software or hardware is incompatible with Windows 7.

Thanks for your help.

I'd try the Vista driver.

If the driver is an *.exe just run it. If it comes in folders with *.sys or *.ocx then run the Update Drivers button through Device Manager.

Unfortunate.

Soyo doesn't even run a website for drivers and you need the chipset drivers for that motherboard.
If you have the SOYO CK8 Dragon Plus CD for the motherboard then you have a chance to load some drivers.

Most all the links for Soyo lead to "Driver Detective" software and that junk isn't going to do anything for you.

Next time choose a Gigabyte or an Asus motherboard. That Soyo has been left behind in technology.

Sorry I couldn't help you more.

I actually do have the CD that came with it -- installed the drivers and nothing worked. Then I let Windows update the drivers -- for some reason, it works now. When I tried to let Windows update the drivers previously, it didn't work.

Who knows? But it works now. Thanks for your help.
