Now this is just wierd

I don't know if this goes here since it has to do with Windows 7 or if it goes in the browser forum because it has to do with Internet Explorer.

IE was in absentia. There was a shortcut for it by the start button and there was a shortcut for it on the desktop. For some unknown reason, the shortcuts disappeared. It didn't even show up in the program listings. I did a search and found it, so I made new shortcuts for it. But my question is *why* did it disappear? Interestingly, at the same time, an extra shortcut for Firefox and Thunderbird showed up so that there were two of each on the desktop.

What did I do, if anything? I don't want to do it again, even though I rarely use IE.

How about using System Restore and restore it to a date before the IE problem.
