How to display lyrics on TV screen

I have an Android TV that will play .mp3 files from a USB stick. I would like to display the lyrics to the song on the screen, like a karyoke machine does.

So I made a .txt file of the same name, containing the lyrics to the song, and copied it to the USB stick, but the TV screen displays, "Lyrics not found" when the music plays.

What am I doing wrong?

You need an APP for that.

Here's one I found: https://www.veed.io/tools/add-text-to-video

Hope this helps you.

Thanks, I didn't have a video file, just an .mp3 music file. So I did a screen grab of the text file and saved it as a .jpg and then combined the .mp3 file and the .jpg file using the app you found and saved the result as a .mp4 file.

It works OK on my computer. I'll try it on the actual TV in the hall in the morning, and hopefully we can all have a good sing along.

Thanks again.

I didn't know that, but did a search to find the format of a .srt file and found this, could prove interesting, I'll give it a go. Thanks.

Thanks for both of these suggestions. I've used both for different songs that I've organised for our Australia day celebrations next week, so that the audience can sing along without the need to distribute song sheets. Thanks again.
