Arrow atiupdpl... wat is it?
i have had errors in my PC but the newest and most annoying is this atiupdpl, wat is it? and it is followed by another error, a32??? just numbers.

it comes when i start up, i tried removing it in the selective start but it didnt work at all. and the dial up prompt keeps appearing every 10 mins or so.

so ..please tell me how to fix this problem......thanks



At the same time i am suddenly geting alot more advertisements.
can you help me out, i just read about hijack this.....
how come the download from this site is version 1.98.2 not 1.99?

Please go here and download Spybot Search&Destroy:

Check for updates before running the program. A tutorial can be found under help. You can safely delete what it finds.

This will self-extract and place a shortcut on your desktop. Run HJT and post the log but don’t make any changes.

Do you think that there are any virusus that hijack the yahoo messenger or msn messenger or ICQ... i use these 3 programs and get errrors occsionally.

Hi technoblur, I am sorry that your thread was overlooked. Download http://www.derbilk.de/SpSeHjfix109.zip to the desktop, rightclick on a blank part of desktop and select New Folder. Call it spfix and unzip the file into that folder

Disconnect from the net and Close ALL OPEN PROGRAMS. Run 'SpSeHjfix'. and click on "Start Disinfection". When it's finished it will reboot your machine to finish the cleaning process. The tool creates a log of the fix which will appear in the folder.

If it doesn't find any of the SE files or any hidden reinstallers it will say system clean and not go on to next stage

Now run the Shredder - Hit The FIX button!

Reboot and post a fresh HJT log and the log that was created by 'SpSeHjfix'.

well i done exactly as u said....

spfix asked to restart then i did

it was exactly the same, the atiupdpl error still there

now when i run the spfix, it doesent ask me to restart at all

i have alrdy run the latest versions on spybot and ad aware

here is the latest hijack this log

Go to www.sysinternals.com and download processexplorer and autoruns. Restart in safe mode and check for any un-named rogue processess including atiupdpl.exe. Kill them along with their process trees. If atiupdpl.exe keeps regenerating itself after killing, then use the command line tool cacls.exe to change file permissions and then delete. Use the following procedure: type
cacls %filename% /p guest:N
press "y" to confirm changes
you will be notified of the permission change.

We also need to get rid of the registry entries and there is another file usually present with this infection that we also have to remove.

Download Killbox from here, unzip the file to your Desktop and have it ready to use.

Boot into Safe Mode (restart your PC and tap F8 as it restarts)and run Hijack This again. Check the below entries and click on Fix Checked.

R1 - HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Search,(Default) = ,

O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [atiupdpl] C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM\atiupdpl.exe

O4 - HKLM\..\RunServices: [atiupdpl] C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM\atiupdpl.exe

O4 - HKCU\..\Run: [atiupdpl] C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM\atiupdpl.exe

O4 - HKCU\..\RunServices: [atiupdpl] C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM\atiupdpl.exe

Still in Safe Mode, run Killbox now. Copy and paste the full file path of the below files in the box and click on Delete on Reboot. Next click on the button with the red circle and an X in the middle. You will get a message saying "File with be deleted on next reboot, click "Yes". Process and Reboot now?" Click"Yes" to reboot only after the last file you enter.

Run Hijack This again and post a new log when you have rebooted.
