Brand name computers have recovery operating system ability so you recover with the push of an F key
and then use your upgrade DVD. If you have a “built” system then you use your original OS DVD then the upgrade DVD. If you have a “built” system and you have an upgrade DVD only then you get demerit points for expecting to recover. It’s like crying for lost files on a bad hard drive when one has no back up of the files previously. Running a computer system can involve a bit of foresight and computer savvy. If you want to run on-the-edge then you should be prepared for the edge. No point in creating bad scenarios and blaming an operating system manufacturer for situations with no out. Change the oil in your car and don’t lose/throw-out operating system DVDs. Also don’t format brand name hard drive systems unless you’re absolutely aware your rendering the recovery DVDs and F keys useless by deleting hidden partitions on that drive. Microsoft is great and so are their upgrade CDs and DVDs. |

Ok guys seeing as I'm the one who started this thread I've got another question, and I hope somebody can answer it.
Here goes: Is the Windows 7 Ultimate that was given away at the Windows 7 Launch Events a 32 or 64 bit version? |
