Windows 7 Key

https://www.howtogeek.com/266072/you...-8-or-8.1-key/

The above article says I can use a key from Windows 7 on Windows 10 still. After Microsofts servers accept it as a 10 key can it be used on 7 again?

I saw a tutorial that you can use 10 without a key but "with only a few small cosmetic restrictions." That may allow me to test the drivers anyway.

I don't know if the drivers for 10 will work on it. I may start a thread for that later.

Your opinion please,
Thanks

no guarantee the instructions will work. there has been a recent thread about it on cnet where it worked for some and not others. so there is no real answer to your question without actually giving it a try. I am guessing is it depends on the key, if it is full version retail, upgrade version, manufacturer oem or microsoft oem.

I know I installed win10 over win7 manufacturers oem. no problems. went back to win7 with no problems, then went back to win 10, no problems. I do not ever remember typing a key but I also did the first install of win10 back when it was first released free.
